On a rather compact footprint of approximately 400 square meters, the new in-situ concrete skatepark in the town of Werl offers a maximum of street and flow elements and combines both into a coherent overall concept. The aim of the layout is to provide both basic street features – important for daily use – as well as creative, freely formed and organic shapes. The setup allows for numerous lines and combination options for users, which guarantees sustained, long-term creative use. With open sightlines into the park and a low base height, the concept not only functionally includes beginners as well as advanced riders, but also creates an inviting and safe space for the local scene to get active and congregate. A lighting system significantly expands the potential hours of use for this skate park, especially in the fall and winter months.
