Description

A modern in-situ concrete skate park is being built on 450 m² “an der weißen Mauer” in the north of Görlitz, transforming an unused area into a public exercise area with a high quality of stay. Open space edges, clear lines of sight and green border areas anchor the facility naturally in its surroundings and create clarity, safety, and inviting areas to linger.

The design is consistently focused on inclusion: a multifunctional sloped table area serves as a comfortable WCMX ramp and provides barrier-free access to the central level. Moderately sized quarter pipes at the front ends, hips, flat bars with rainbow options, and manual/ledge combinations form a low-threshold street flow skate park with a multi-line concept, suitable for skateboards, BMX bikes, inline skates, scooters, and WCMX. A clear separation from the adjacent fire department grounds and unobstructed sightlines increase social safety.

The design remains calm and precise: bright contrasting lane markings and yellowish guide elements structure driving lines and crossings; anthracite-colored metal copings frame the edges, seating areas at the table, and green zones encourage people to linger. The result is a skate park for everyone, inclusive, clearly laid out, and integrated into the landscape, which permanently activates the brownfield site as a space for movement.
